Learn to grow your own probiotics with these helpful instructions
Purchase S. Boulardii capsules. Get the best quality brand you can afford. Good brands include Klaire Labs and Pure Encapuslations.
Gather 4 cups of organic, ripe fruit. The overripe fruit that your market is planning to pull from the case is best. Ideas and options:
Ripe and fresh blueberries, raspberries + blackberries
Applesauce in a jar, unsweetened
Frozen pears, mangoes and / or berries
Blend the fruit in a blender with 1 cup of spring water.
Cook the mixture in a saucepan at low heat until it boils for 20 minutes.
Allow the mixture to cool to body temperature.
Add the contents of 2 S. Boulardii gelatin capsules and stir.
Pour the mixture into a large bowl, halfway. (The batch might expand so make sure there is room for this in your bowl.)
Place your bowl in the oven, do not turn the oven, but turn the oven light on. Leave it for 2-3 days under the oven light.
Your batch will grow and ferment until there is no longer a sweet taste. Taste it on day 2 and see where it stands in sweetness. Once it’s ready, put in the fridge, covered.
Take 1-2 tablespoons every morning before breakfast for at least two weeks prior to the detox portion of our journey.
If your Probiotic starts to taste like it is going bad. Take a spoonful of it and add it to a new batch of overripe or frozen fruit. Let it ferment like you did above (steps 7 – 9).
